Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Marine Cargo Underwriter to join our team at Aegislondon.
About the Role: As a Marine Cargo Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting in accordance with personal underwriting authority and the Syndicate's underwriting procedures and class underwriting guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use of AEGIS data systems such as AEGILITY including capture of underwriting rationale etc.
- Accurate assessment of the materiality of risk for new business, renewals and endorsements.
- Generate ad hoc reports and analyse data.
- Assist with the production of internal and external presentations including presenting at monthly underwriting meetings.
- Undertake both broker and client visits and marketing as required.
- Liaise with the marine & energy team, senior management, brokers, coverholders and external auditors as required.
- Development of underwriting and technical knowledge in the respective class of business.
Requirements:
- Excellent organisation and administrative skills and a high attention to detail.
- Appropriate underwriting experience in Marine Cargo.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, interacting with other team members.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Good understanding of MS Office Suite.
- Good understanding of Industry processes.
- ACII or significant progress towards qualification.
- A good understanding of the Lloyd's and/or London market.
