Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at Trial Balance Consulting. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of detailed monthly management reports/accounts with accompanying commentary, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Financial Pack Production: Produce high-quality and timely financial reporting packs in line with FCA requirements, showcasing our client's financial health.
  3. VAT Reporting: Produce accurate VAT reports for both UK and EU entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Audit Support: Act as a key point of contact for annual internal and external audits, providing expert guidance and support.
  5. Team Leadership: Deputise for the Financial Controller where required, assuming line management for a small team and driving their growth and development.
  6. Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and maintain digital accounting processes to increase efficiency and future-proof for continued growth.
  7. Bank Reconciliations: Ensure accurate and timely bank reconciliations, maintaining a high level of financial control.
  8. Cash Flow Management: Produce cash flow statements and general forecasts, providing valuable insights for business decision-making.
  9. Aged Debtor Control: Oversee aged debtor controls and procedures, ensuring timely payment and minimizing bad debt.
  10. Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  11. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliation, maintaining a high level of financial control.
  12. Accounting Projects: Assist with ongoing accounting projects, providing expert support and guidance.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes gained within a fast-developing business. Professional qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or vocational experience (QBE) are essential. Proven experience of developing and implementing new accounting processes and systems is also required. Strong general IT aptitude, particularly in MS Excel, is a must. Supervisory experience or an aptitude to manage a small team is desirable. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and commercial awareness, with the ability to work effectively within a highly energetic team.
