Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist in the operation and management of the Council Permit Scheme for Roadworks and Streetworks. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to ensure all permits are reviewed, coordinated, and managed accurately and efficiently to minimize disruption to highway users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and process permit applications within agreed timescales and in line with Statutory Guidance and National Conditions.

• Coordinate permits and work with the utility company to resolve conflicts, refusals, or variation requests.

• Maintain precise and accurate records in line with permit procedures, NRSWA, and TMA legislation.

• Assist in dealing with Section 74 and FPN investigations, including ascertaining responsibility, charge liability, and correspondence with the utility company.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and associated Statutory Guidance and Codes of Practices.

• Experience of computerized street works database systems and mapping systems.

Additional Information:

This role is located in Cambridgeshire and offers hybrid working arrangements.
