We are seeking an experienced Adult Safeguarding Specialist to join our team at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent, Monday-to-Friday role with occasional weekend and bank holiday shifts.

About the Role

This position involves care coordination, risk assessment, and safeguarding of vulnerable adults within the meaning of the Care Act 2014. You will work closely with the Care Program Approach and be responsible for completing and updating risk assessments.

As an Adult Safeguarding Specialist, you will demonstrate anti-discriminatory practice, promote the rights of vulnerable adults, and collate information to write reports suitable for legal processes. You will also fulfill the duties of an Approved Mental Health Professional or be willing to work towards gaining the associated qualifications.

Person Specification
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Substantial prior experience working with individuals presenting with mental health issues

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer National Joint Council Pay Scales to our Social Workers, ensuring clarity over terms and conditions of employment.

Requirements
  1. Care co-ordination in line with the Care Program Approach.
  2. Completing and updating risk assessments.
  3. Working in line with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act (2005), and Mental Health Act (1983).
  4. Assessment, support planning, reviews, and safeguarding within the meaning of the Care Act 2014.
  5. Demonstrating anti-discriminatory practice and promoting the rights of vulnerable adults.
  6. Demonstrating an ability to collate information and write reports of a standard fit for legal processes such as Mental Health Tribunal's and Hospital Managers Hearings.
  7. Fulfilling the duties of an Approved Mental Health Professional / Best Interests Assessor or being willing to work towards gaining the associated qualifications.
