Role Overview
Come and be a part of Farrans Construction, one of the leading construction companies in Ireland, Scotland, and England. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects ranging from £5m to £300m, spanning both construction and civil markets.

We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for starting a career in the civils industry. If you hold a Civil Engineering Degree with a 2:2 or higher, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong interest in all aspects of engineering, then this role is perfect for you

The salary for this position is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a wide range of benefits, including car allowance, payment of an annual professional membership, contributory pensions plan, health shield, and 34 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).

Job Responsibilities
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor at Farrans Construction, your duties will include:
  • Ensuring the development and delivery of the project runs in conjunction with business expectations, programme, and budget.
  • Analysing subcontract quotations.
  • Reviewing conditions and/or qualifications assist with drafting and negotiating contract types prior to submission of a tender.
  • Preparing interim applications, including works executed, materials on site, and works by subcontractors, and submitting them to the Client's team by agreed deadline.
  • Evaluating, measuring, and recovering contract variations.
  • Gathering records to confirm additional payments where required and defending claims received from subcontractors.
  • Reviewing, assessing, and reducing commercial and contractual risks.
  • Assisting with the procurement of subcontractors.
  • Being responsible for effective dispute resolution.
  • Generating payments and distributing notices to suppliers and subcontractors, including the measurement of works and differences executed to evaluate final costs and accounts.
