About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Head of School in driving strategic development and advancing the school's operational programme. This involves leading the development of a comprehensive Recruitment and Retention Strategy, collaborating with key stakeholders to achieve objectives, and contributing to the formulation of policies and procedures.

In addition to these core duties, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Work closely with the Head of School to design and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy focused on recruiting and retaining top talent in Cardiothoracic Surgery trainees.
  • Serve as a member of the School Board, providing expert guidance and counsel to inform decision-making processes.

  • A Consultant in Cardiothoracic Surgery designation on the Specialist Register.
  • Fellowship status with the Royal College of Surgeons.
  • An Education Qualification such as a Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Medical Education.
Requirements
