Grounds Care Specialist

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Grounds Care Specialist at a prestigious private estate near Cheltenham.

This challenging role is ideal for someone with relevant experience working on a large estate or busy farm. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the day-to-day upkeep of the estate and its commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with the Estate Manager to maintain the smooth operation of the estate and carry out daily maintenance tasks.
  2. Perform general estate upkeep, including property exterior maintenance, path and drive care, and waste management.
  3. Carry out minor repairs such as fixing light sockets, unblocking sinks, and basic carpentry and plumbing tasks.
  4. Support the gardening team with routine tasks, such as mowing, weeding, and watering.
  5. Contribute to car cleaning and maintenance, ensuring vehicles are fueled and in top condition.
  6. Occasionally provide driving duties and assistance with large deliveries.
  7. Promote and protect estate habitats, supporting the care of animals and endangered species.
  8. Assist the house team during large events to ensure seamless execution.
  9. Operate machinery for groundskeeping and maintenance tasks (certifications required).
Requirements:
  1. Demonstrable practical skills in estate maintenance or a similar environment, such as a busy working farm.
  2. Sound knowledge of groundwork and machinery operation.
  3. A full, clean driving license with experience driving 4x4 vehicles, towing trailers, and operating machinery.
  4. Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on tasks in varied conditions.
  5. A proactive approach, with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
