Job Title: Tooling Production Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Production Engineer to join our team at Blue Arrow - Derby. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and tooling systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the tooling team to resolve quality and mechanical issues, and perform equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Plan and provide component samples for downstream process trials, R&D projects, and sample builds.
  • Drive improvements with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency, quality, and scrap reduction.
  • Support production and tool technicians in implementing robust systems and processes for managing tools, tool rooms, and changeovers.
  • Work with NPI Project engineers and the tool team to implement new products on existing and new production lines.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level or relevant qualifications and industrial experience.
  • Previous experience as a Tooling/Production Engineer or similar role.
  • Knowledge of press tooling, jigs, and fixtures, as well as lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering and relevant practical experience in press tooling/sheet metal/jigs and fixtures manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage small to medium-sized projects and demonstrate control of specification to implementation.
