Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teaching assistant to join our specialist provision for children with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties at Charles Warren Academy.

About the Role:

As a SEND teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of an excellent education to every child, in every classroom, every day. You will work collaboratively with our experienced teaching team to provide individualized support to children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties in a specialist provision
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to motivate children to learn and enjoy school
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching assistants and the teaching team to provide a comprehensive support package
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans
Requirements:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience of supporting children in primary education
  • Experience in the use of visual strategies to support children with communication needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to providing high-quality support to children with complex needs
