About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Support Worker to join our Youth Justice Service in the London Borough of Sutton. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 10-17 who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold a caseload of young people referred to the service and conduct timely assessments to identify their support needs.
- Create intervention plans to support your work with young people within a multi-agency environment, working with partners and prioritizing the child's voice.
- Carry out regular interventions with young people and their families, meeting the needs of the assessment, which may include home visits, activities, or structured work to support them to reach their full potential.
- Build professional and positive relationships with young people and their families to enable change and prevent offending behavior.
- Carry out group work activities as required in schools and/or in the community with young people and their families.

About You
We are looking for dynamic, passionate, and creative staff who have experience working with challenging young people. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will need to be able to engage with children who have experienced trauma and build trust with families. Your engagement skills will be flexible and adaptable, and you will be willing to persist where needed to gain the trust of families.
Requirements
- Experience of working with young people and their families in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team.
- Good writing and analytical skills.
