We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Support Worker to join our team in the Youth Justice Service. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will work with young people aged 10-17 years old who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice service.
Your primary focus will be on prevention and supporting the child and their family holistically to sustain positive outcomes. You will hold a caseload of young people referred into the service and carry out timely assessments to identify their needs.
You will create intervention plans to support your work with the young people, working with partners and hearing their voice. You will also carry out regular interventions with the child and their family, meeting their needs and supporting them to fulfill their potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with young people and their families to identify their needs and develop intervention plans
- Carrying out regular interventions with the child and their family
- Building professional and positive relationships with the child and their family
- Working with partners and agencies to support the young people and their families

About You
We are looking for dynamic, passionate, and creative staff who have experience of working with challenging young people. You will be able to engage with children with a trauma background who may not be trusting or initially keen to work with you.
You will have good writing and analytical skills, able to write assessments taking into account the whole family needs as well as that of the child and identify what needs to change alongside positives.
