Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom EKC Group Full time

About the Role

EKC Group is seeking a dedicated Industry Liaison Officer to join their team at EKC Canterbury College within the Construction Department. In this role, you will:

  • Secure and monitor work placements for students across various vocational areas, fostering strong relationships with employers and ensuring seamless integration of industry partners into the college's curriculum.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employer relations in these sectors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement employer events, as well as organize visits for students to connect with industry professionals, promoting experiential learning and career development opportunities.
  • Ensure timely documentation, following college guidelines and national standards for employer partnerships, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Work closely with students—both individually and in small groups—to assess and develop their employability skills, enabling them to complete successful industry placements and achieve their career goals.

This role is central to building strong industry connections and helping students thrive in their professional journeys. As an Industry Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping the college's employer partnerships and contributing to the development of a skilled and employable workforce.

About You

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Industry Liaison Officer who brings a blend of skills and passion to the role. You will:

  • Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and written, with the ability to build strong relationships with employers, students, and colleagues.
  • Be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks, applying a flexible and adaptable approach to work demands, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Possess an inquisitive and analytical mindset, with a passion for mentoring and supporting students to achieve their career aspirations.
  • Be capable of working independently using your own initiative, while also being an effective team player, with a collaborative approach to achieving shared goals.

A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject is desirable, but we are open to considering candidates with equivalent experience in the sector and a willingness to obtain the necessary qualification. If you have a passion for mentoring the next generation and experience in this field, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact.
