Join Our Team as a Consultant Psychiatrist

Cygnet Hospital Woking is seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients on our 10-bed female PICU service.

About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity, working 3 days per week, with a competitive salary of up to £90,000 per year. You will be part of a dynamic team that provides a range of mental health services for men and women.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide psychiatric care to patients
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans
  • Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment and risk management
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
