We are seeking a highly skilled Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Scotland. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in maximising profit and reducing risk on our projects.

About the Role:

  • Compiling information for reports and claims within agreed timescales.
  • Implementing commercial applications across site personnel, developing lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Constantly referring to project risk management plans for thorough risk assessment, monitoring registers and documentation.
  • Ultimate responsibility for sub-contractor management, ensuring compliant quotations and documentation, as well as monthly assessments and final account agreements.
  • Actively increasing knowledge of commercial issues and contract law to manage compensation events and variations.
  • Liaising with Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure commercial cover is maintained.
  • Assisting teams with recovery of contract costs, enhancing project profit by identifying variations, delays, and claims.
  • Producing monthly project financial and forecast reports for analysis.
  • Developing negotiating skills and attending handover and progress meetings.

Requirements:

  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Analytical and financial awareness.
  • Contract costing and law (NEC3/4) expertise.
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
  • Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Sub-Contract Management and cost/value reconciliation.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying and graduate calibre.
  • Full UK driving license and industry knowledge.

Salary Range:
