Job Description: This PhD studentship focuses on geographically weighted geodemographics, exploring the dynamics of gender and occupational segregation in apprenticeships. The project involves a comprehensive review of horizontal and vertical segregation within the apprenticeship system, examining causes, nature, and consequences of gender segregation across occupations. The successful applicant will contribute to policy and practitioner expertise, impact, and unique access to SDS and ESRC resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications: A strong background in social sciences, geography, or related fields, with excellent analytical and research skills.

Benefits: A well-resourced 3-year scholarship, training support, and fee-waiver, along with the opportunity to work closely with the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling (ICBD).

Others: The student will have access to a rich dataset of primary material from ICBD graduates, enabling an in-depth analysis of take-overs, mergers, backward and forward integration, and evolving production geography.
