About the Role
As a Nursery Practitioner at Tops Day Nurseries, you will play a vital role in the educational and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five. Your primary duties will include providing a safe environment for children to learn, helping them develop basic social and behavioural skills, and engaging them in age-appropriate play activities.
About the Nursery
Tops Bearwood Nursery is a 55-place Day Nursery & Pre-School situated in Bearwood, Bournemouth. The nursery offers various extra-curricular activities, including Tops Forest School, Holiday club (after school care), and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, including feeding, changing diapers, and helping children with toilet training, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
- Develop and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development, focusing on key areas like social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.
- Observe children's development and identify any areas of concern, helping children develop their motor skills, language, and social interactions through play and structured learning.
- Ensure children are safe and emotionally supported, creating an atmosphere that encourages children to explore and learn independently.
- Keep records of each child's progress, including documenting milestones, behaviors, and developmental needs, often part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework in the UK.
- Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians about their child's progress, needs, and any concerns that arise.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Qualification is required.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
