Job Overview

The Geophysical Engineer In Charge will lead the safe operation and acquisition of geophysical survey equipment and data.

This is a seagoing role, with an expectation of completing around 180-200 days offshore per year.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and co-ordinate the engineering team to ensure high-quality results.
  2. Ensure geophysical data is acquired in compliance with good survey practice and logs are completed according to company policy.
  3. Provide a proactive and comprehensive service to support the geophysical engineering department.
  4. Monitor and quality control data records in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
  1. Experience in relevant engineering disciplines, such as electronics, hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, data communications, or IT infrastructure.
  2. Broad knowledge of geophysical and seismic operations.
  3. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  4. Develop constructive and open relationships with a wide range of people.
  5. Team spirit and a 'can-do' attitude.
  6. Ability to problem-solve using initiative and creativity.
  7. Fluent in spoken and written English, including technical.
  8. High-level IT skills, e.g., Microsoft Office.
  9. Able to pass ENG-1 and STCW-95 (or recognised equivalent).
  10. Ability to coach and mentor others.
