About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Radiologist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have expertise in all aspects of Interventional Radiology, with a focus on delivering high-quality imaging services and supporting the vascular and non-vascular interventional work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest clinical standards in patient management within the hospital, particularly focusing on delivering a high-quality imaging service with a specialization in Interventional Radiology.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Imaging Department to manage all patient referrals to the Trust, contributing to the general radiology workload, including a 1 in 12 on-call rota.
  • Provide support to radiographers and sonographers, and actively engage in the teaching and training of specialist registrars, junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students.
  • Participate in departmental and Trust-wide Clinical Governance and audit activities, and commit to continuous professional development (CPD).

Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration and licensed to practice.
  • Subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology.
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview) or CESR (must be on Specialist Register at time of applying).

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from an accredited centre.
  • Research experience.
  • MD, PhD, or other higher degree.
  • EBIR.
