Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sailing Instructor to join our team at the Joint Services Adventurous Sail Training Centre. As a Sailing Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering offshore sailing training to the Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force personnel, developing their leadership and resilience skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver on-water training ranging from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster, depending on your qualifications and experience.
  • Provide on-shore training and work with qualified engineering staff to manage boat maintenance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs in line with Army Adventurous Training ethos.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve training objectives.
Requirements
  • Royal Yacht Association Yachtmaster Offshore qualification.
  • Maritime and Coastguard Agency Commercial Endorsement.
  • Seafarers' Medical Certificate (ML5).
  • Royal Yacht Association First Aid certificate.
  • VHF Operators Licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Royal Yacht Association Cruising Instructor qualification.
  • Experience of working in a training environment.
  • Recent professional development and a willingness to develop further.
