About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Downland Practice. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care and practice-related duties under the direct supervision of GPs and Practice Nurses.
  • Support the practice team in providing high-quality primary care services to patients.
  • Perform phlebotomy, patient health checks, blood pressure checks, ECGs, urinalysis, spirometry, and wound care.
  • Assist with minor surgery, LARC procedures, and vaccination programs.
  • Process and manage laboratory samples, stock ordering, and maintain accurate records.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Basic IT skills and ability to communicate verbally with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to work with a team and/or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Courteous and polite demeanor, calm and level-headed under pressure.
  • Previous experience working as a HCA, qualified in phlebotomy, and educated to GCSE level in Maths and English.
