Job Title: Specialist Optometrist (Part-time)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Optometrist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Specialist Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in our Cataract and Glaucoma clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients and diagnose eye conditions using advanced clinical skills and specialist equipment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Participate in audit and research activities to improve patient care and services.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • Post-qualification hospital experience of over 3 years.
  • Experience of examining vulnerable patient groups.
  • Extended role experience in a hospital setting.
  • Community shared care experience.
  • Experience with clinical teaching and audit/research.
