At Motor Insurers' Bureau, we're committed to making roads safer by removing uninsured and hit-and-run drivers from our roads. We work closely with the Police, Insurers, and Government to achieve this goal.
Last year, we helped over 42,000 people affected by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid out more than £400 million in compensation to support victims in rebuilding their lives.
Job SummaryWe're seeking a professional and inspiring Risk Management Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Protecting Motor Insurers' Bureau by identifying and mitigating key risks.
- Championing a culture of excellent risk management throughout the organization.
- Providing advisory services on risk management across Motor Insurers' Bureau, ensuring best practice.
- Developing a risk framework tailored to Motor Insurers' Bureau and leading its implementation.
- Collaborating with other safeguarding functions to ensure alignment and cohesive protection and enablement for the business.
The Director of Risk Management will be responsible for:
- Embedding the risk assessment and management framework, ensuring policies, tools, and methodologies are up-to-date and relevant for business needs.
- Aligning risk registers with enterprise risks and the business plan.
- Reviewing and understanding risk appetite, acceptance, and response across the business to ensure growth and business initiatives are managed within an acceptable tolerance.
- Promoting a risk awareness culture within Motor Insurers' Bureau through a robust engagement and communication plan.
- Developing and implementing Operational resilience, TPRM framework, and Risk appetite framework.
- Overseeing, challenging, and supporting disaster recovery, business continuity, and crisis management plans for Motor Insurers' Bureau.
- Liaising with Internal/External Audit on risk management issues that impact the Group, including inputs into risk-based planning and combined assurance approach.
- Driving a positive, proactive, and expert risk management culture that is respected by the business and influences others on how to own and manage their risks effectively.
- Ensuring the development, management, and continuous improvement of qualitative and quantitative risk reporting that engages end-users via the One Trust system's use and KRI metrics.
The successful candidate will have:
- A relevant risk management qualification.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment, including experience at senior management level.
- Ability to influence decisions at executive and senior management level.
- Maintains the highest professional standards to ensure the organization is not in a position of risk.
- Extensive experience of risk management.
