Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Willcox Matthews Ltd. The successful candidate will have experience in assembly automation, advanced machining, or tooling with an automotive company.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  2. Coordinate daily build activities with the Operations Lead, including contractors and management.
  3. Process engineering changes and address material issues.
  4. Support coordination and implementation of engineering changes.
  5. Support project managers on job and manpower planning.
  6. Track and communicate on-site technical issues with engineering and project management to resolve and close open issues.
  7. Report percentage complete status on a daily basis per project.
  8. Identify upcoming roadblocks and provide forward planning to meet overall schedule requirements.
  9. Adhere to the published statement of work and notify the project manager or engineering manager about any opportunities for improvements and/or risks identified.
  10. Read and interpret technical drawings, including CAD, and identify any inconsistencies.
  11. Develop and lead strong KPIs with performance measurables, regularly reviewed with the team.
  12. Support the development and preparation of commercial and technical offers that comply with the customer's request.
Requirements:
  1. Flexibility to travel within Europe and beyond.
  2. Effective communicator both written and verbal in English.
  3. Mechanical Engineering Degree/Diploma/Certificate of Qualification and/or applicable work experience.
  4. Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, AutoCAD, and Visual Manufacturing System.
  5. Previous experience of Assembly Automation/Advanced Machining/Tooling with an automotive company.
  6. Previous experience with the manufacture of assembly cells (Desirable).
  7. Project management qualification (Desirable).
  8. 2 years relevant work experience in automotive/manufacturing (Desirable).
  9. Implementation of industry 4.0 (Desirable).
