Senior Development Manager (Solar & BESS)
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to join our team in a key role. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, management, and delivery of an array of solar and BESS projects at all stages of development from site origination through to shovel-ready status.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, management, and delivery of solar and BESS projects
- Engage with stakeholders, including planning authorities, landowners, statutory consultees, and the wider public
- Run tender processes and manage external consultants/contractors
- Liaise with relevant authorities regarding grid capacity and connection opportunities
- Manage project budgets and report on project progress
- Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., planning, environment, surveying)
- Experience in the planning and development of renewable energy projects in the UK
- Track record of securing planning permissions and consents for large-scale energy projects
- Knowledge of the UK planning system and regulatory landscape
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships
