Job Title: Associate Haematology Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Haematology Specialist Nurse to join our team at St Margaret's Somerset Hospice. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our hospice's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs, identify goals, and work collaboratively with patients and families to achieve them.
  • Collect and report accurate information on patients' caseloads and dependencies.
  • Make appropriate referrals to the multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively with community-based services.
  • Actively seek and identify areas for improvement in routines and practices.
  • Manage complex communication issues with patients and families as a lone worker in the community.
  • Participate in the planning and undertaking of patient and carer satisfaction surveys.
  • Contribute to the review and development of policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Provide clinical expertise and specialist advice to assess and analyse complex situations.
  • Plan and manage own caseload and prioritise response to referrals and urgent requests for advice.
Requirements:
  • Expert clinical knowledge and skills in haematology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and agencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex communication issues and provide sensitive information to patients and families.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
