About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Coastal Project Manager to join our busy Coastal Risk Management Team in the North West. This critical role will focus on delivering high-profile coastal protection projects, ensuring compliance with environmental and legal standards, and enhancing community resilience.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management and a commitment to sustainable coastal protection. They will excel in stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and strategy development, with the ability to oversee complex projects while collaborating with contractors and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of coastal protection schemes from inception to completion.
  • Manage project budgets of up to £10 million, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement coastal strategies aligned with national policies.
  • Coordinate public engagement sessions and lead community resilience initiatives.
  • Represent the council in regional and national forums.
  • Secure funding through grants and partnerships while ensuring compliance with funding criteria.
  • Supervise external contractors and provide technical and strategic input to projects.
