About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Economic Abuse Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our team at Refuge. As an advocate, you will play a critical role in supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence, providing high-quality advocacy and support to survivors at the highest risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse, focusing on economic abuse and financial stability.
  • Work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, offering expert guidance and support to help them navigate complex situations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to survivors' needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with survivors, understanding their unique circumstances and providing tailored support.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in economic abuse and domestic violence, with a strong understanding of the impact on survivors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with survivors and work effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and develop creative solutions.
  • A commitment to Refuge's values and mission, with a passion for supporting survivors and promoting social change.
