A Technical Architect is sought to contribute to a groundbreaking platform initiative that delivers comprehensive AI solutions to both internal and external stakeholders. This role encompasses a complex and fulfilling technical architecture position, addressing aspects from Identity and Access Management (IAM) to API development and Master Data Management (MDM). It necessitates extensive core architecture expertise and a pragmatic approach to critical design choices, weighing various trade-offs while effectively communicating strategies and rationale to engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will join a team of four technical architects tasked with the ongoing architecture and enhancement of our platform. Your responsibilities will involve substantial technical architecture work across integration, application, and data model domains. Familiarity with API design, data modeling, and quality attribute considerations is essential, along with the ability to make informed architectural decisions while articulating the reasoning behind them.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about development. While our engineering team will handle much of the coding, a background in hands-on development is crucial, along with the capability to review and critique the code produced by others. Excellent communication skills are necessary, as you will engage directly with clients, including both technical and non-technical personnel.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with GCP serverless components and their integration to create robust, high-availability solutions.
- Extensive background in designing and documenting architectures and applications in GCP, addressing a variety of technical and non-technical constraints.
- Experience in making significant design decisions and maintaining architecture decision records, effectively communicating these choices to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in API design, documentation, and versioning, particularly with common GCP components.
- Experience leading development teams from a design and technical ownership perspective.
- In-depth knowledge of application architecture in GCP, including suitable technologies and patterns for specific use cases.
- Experience estimating large-scale architectural changes, identifying key risks and dependencies, and informing project plans.
- Thorough understanding of designing applications in containerized environments.
- Hands-on development experience, preferably in Python, along with familiarity with complex enterprise software challenges.
- Experience designing software for multi-tenant environments.
- Expertise in data model design, simplification, and standardization.
- Experience with complex, highly-integrated architectures involving various third-party systems.
- Strong written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills, capable of conveying technical and abstract concepts.
- Automation and quality-first mindset, including proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code languages and advocating for developer quality through testing and code reviews.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with the C4 Model for Software Architecture.
- Understanding of DevOps principles.
- Knowledge of AI applications in relation to model capabilities and use cases.
- Experience with headless architectures and their interaction with back-end systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java.
- Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of diagrams-as-code methodologies.
