Job Summary

Pro-Tax is seeking a highly skilled Share Scheme Tax Manager to join our Incentives & Reward team in London. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping listed and private companies design, implement, and operate share and cash incentive arrangements in the UK and overseas.

About the Role

This is a challenging and varied position that requires a deep understanding of tax, legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations. You will work closely with clients across a range of industries, from large global corporations to smaller fast-growing businesses, to provide expert advice on commercial and practical issues related to employee equity and cash incentive plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the structure and design of employee equity and cash incentive plans, taking into account commercial and practical considerations.
  • Support companies in implementing equity and cash incentive plans in the UK and globally, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Provide expert advice on the tax and legal implications of incentive plans for both employers and employees, including mobile employees and expatriates.
  • Develop strategies for the tax-compliant and tax-efficient delivery of incentives, ensuring that clients meet their obligations.
  • Draft share plan and related employee communication documents, including plan rules, FAQs, and tax guides.
  • Assist in preparing technical updates for clients and contacts on changes to tax and legal treatment of incentives.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality, client-facing work, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulations in this field, providing expert advice to clients.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of tax, legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations related to employee equity and cash incentive plans.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to provide expert advice on commercial and practical issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, client-facing work, with a focus on technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
