About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Engineer to join our team at ARAG UK. As a member of our Technology, Data and Strategic Change department, you will play a crucial role in shaping our security strategy and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our information and information systems.

Your focus will be on designing, building and securing scalable and robust systems, as well as assessing security threats and risks we face and ensuring compliance across ARAG UK. You will also need to stay up-to-date with new security developments and adhere to security best practice.

This is a key position within our company, requiring strong technical, organisational and communication skills. You will build close relationships with teams across the IT Department and other technical teams and business departments.

  • Excellent knowledge of information security frameworks, standards, and security best practice (ISO27001, NIST CSF, Cyber Essentials, OWASP).
  • Comprehensive understanding of data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in designing secure components (e.g. networks, systems, applications, security technologies).
  • Extensive experience and understanding of network design, defence-in-depth principles, and network security architecture.
  • AWS and cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)

As a successful candidate, you will have a strong background in IT security and relevant certifications such as SSCP, CRISC or CEH. Our ideal candidate will also have experience working with AWS, Azure and other cloud platforms.
