As a key member of our specialist security team, you will be responsible for ensuring that systems are in place that enable BT to meet its legal obligations under the Investigatory Powers Act. Specifically, under this role, you will ensure that mobile network data obligatory platforms are designed and implemented cost effectively, with appropriate security and meeting legal & BT operational requirements.

This will involve working with mobile network designers and stakeholders both across BT and government/law enforcement. In addition to the design and implementation of these systems, the role will also involve providing expert technical support to these systems.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Focusing on business data relating to the mobile network.
  2. Taking ownership of network and system designs for mobile network data obligatory platforms, including owning requirements capture, design & implementation.
  3. Ensuring all specific project work is compliant with Government legal requirements and policies as well as BT security standards and policies.
  4. Providing expert analysis of the meaning of obligations communications data, including providing support and complex case analysis, including liaising with source system owners to identify and resolve data feed issues and where possible to provide further insight into the data.
  5. Tracking development of new products and services as well as the evolution of existing network platforms to ensure that relevant obligations capability can be maintained.
  6. Liaising with GSS compliance and Group Legal to support and ensure any developed capabilities are in compliance with legislation.

About You:

We are looking for an individual with knowledge of mobile network architectures and their associated operational support systems and data. Additionally, you should have knowledge of the security measures required in order to protect systems/data. Familiarity with BT products and services, including their platforms and underlying network architectures, is also essential.

You should have the ability to communicate complex legal/regulatory/technical information in simple terms for a wide audience with varying levels of background knowledge. An inquisitive pro-active approach with a keenness to investigate and understand technical issues and implementations is also desirable.
