About the Role

The Department of Physics at Durham University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the UK Quantum Technology Research Hub in Sensing, Imaging and Timing (QuSIT).

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborating with industrial partners and contributing to the advancement of quantum technologies. The successful candidate will join a thriving research team to work on the development of Rydberg-atom based sensors for security and radar applications.

About the Requirements

The successful candidate will have a good first degree in Physics or a related subject, a PhD (or be close to submission) in quantum/atomic Physics or a related subject, and experience in conducting high quality academic research. They will also have demonstrable ability to write material of a quality commensurate with publication in highly-ranked journals, and to present research papers at international conferences and communicate complex information to specialists and within the wider academic community.
