About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team at Centennial, a national leader in renovation, construction, and design-build services. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in assisting our construction project team members in various areas, including preparation of field-related reports, estimating, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Assist with daily reports and other field assignments, including writing scopes of work and performing job walks, providing support with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment, and preparing AutoCAD as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Estimating: Assist in the development of detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing, entering line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other estimating tools.
  • Subcontractor Support: Prepare bid documents for subcontractors, assemble subcontractor quotes for review, gather subcontractor safety information, assist in tracking progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors, and prepare subcontracts and other subcontractor safety information.
  • Scheduling: Help develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Safety: Ensure compliance with Centennial's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.).
  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or from the assigned office location.
  • Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to construction sites, which may include various weather conditions.
Requirements
  • Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
  • Experience with estimating, design, and scheduling software highly desired.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Experience with blueprint reading a plus but not required.
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
    • Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial's core values.
    • Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.
    • Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired.
