Job Description for Lead Solar PV Installer



At Star Talent Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Lead Solar PV Installer to join our client's growing team. As the lead installer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential and commercial clients.




  • Key Responsibilities:



  • Direct the work of junior installers and subcontractors, ensuring proper safety practices and quality standards are maintained.
  • Perform full solar PV installations including panels, inverters, and monitoring systems (roof and ground-mounted systems).
  • Handle all electrical aspects of the installation, including wiring, grounding, and interconnection to the utility grid.
  • Evaluate installation sites, taking accurate measurements, and assessing environmental conditions (e.g., shading, roof condition).
  • Diagnose and fix problems with solar installations, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet client expectations.
  • Perform testing and verification of system performance, including electrical output, connectivity, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all work is in compliance with national and local electrical codes, and adhere to relevant safety standards (e.g., Health & Safety regulations).
  • Liaise with clients regarding installation progress, system operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including permits, inspection reports, and installation records.


Qualifications and Experience




  • Minimum 2 years of experience in solar PV installation.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems.
  • Familiarity with TESLA, Sun Sink or similar solar installation systems and related software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Meticulous approach to quality control and system performance testing.
  • Full clean driving license required.
