Role Summary

This is a fixed-term research position based at the University of Cambridge, Department of Psychiatry, supporting a National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) funded programme.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Research Assistant on our exciting project concerning children & young people's mental health. The WAIT LESS study aims to co-produce a digital self-led application of the Brief Psychosocial Intervention (BPI) with young people, parents, & health professionals.

The role involves working closely with the research team to support the delivery of four interrelated work packages:

  1. ">
  2. Interviews & focus groups with young people, parents/carers, & clinicians to gather experiences & ideas on app usage.

    ">">
  3. Co-design sessions with advisory groups & software engineers to develop the app.

    ">">
  4. Prototype evaluation with young people from two NHS clinics to assess usability, functionality, & safety.

    ">">
  5. Pilot study comparing young people with access to the app versus standard waitlist care.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and have a strong interest in mental health research.
