About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Leader to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Clinical Leader, you will be responsible for delivering operational management, clinical leadership, and supervision to designated teams of staff within the Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Clinical Leader with continuing clinical responsibility for designated clinical areas, ensuring high-quality evidence-based nursing assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluations for patients.
  • Contribute to the professional development and clinical supervision of team members, maintaining and developing quality standards of practice in accordance with professional guidelines and Trust policies.
  • Enable service users by providing accurate and appropriate information, offering choices, and involving them in the care process.
  • Lead by example, motivating and empowering others, promoting positive attitudes and mutual understanding.
  • Pursue legitimate patient concerns, resolving problems in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ensure all staff have access to and are familiar with clinical and other policies and procedures operational within the Trust.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning within designated clinical areas, promoting continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.

Person Specification
  • Essential knowledge, skills, and experience: RN3 Mental Health Nurse, Level 1, clear record of ongoing continuing professional development, substantial experience at Band 6 level, evidence of ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Desirable knowledge, skills, and experience: post-registration training in an area relevant to caring for adults with acute mental health problems, experience of managing other staff, clinical supervision, clinical audit, and disciplinary procedures.
