We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our Community Midwifery Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Community Midwife, you will provide high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to women in the Ellesmere Port, Chester City, and Chester Rural areas.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assessing the full range of care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care throughout the ante-natal, intra-partum, and post-natal period in the community or hospital setting.
- Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure women and their families' needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing health/social requirements and discharge arrangements.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication with women and their families.
- Collecting, collating, and reporting information, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Recognizing and responding appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
- Involving women and their families in the planning and delivery of care.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital. We employ over 6258 staff and provide acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Registered Midwife qualification.
- A degree or relevant experience.
- Experience of working within a continuity of carer model and a willingness to develop speciality knowledge if applicable to the post.
- Ability to communicate in a variety of midwifery settings.
- Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Able to deal with women and their families at times of emotional stress.
