Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Support Specialist to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As an EAL Tutor, you will work with young people who require support in learning English as an Additional Language.

The Opportunity

We are looking for educators who are committed to transforming the lives of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, as well as those of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. Our team provides support via our consultants and Training and Development Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver bespoke EAL sessions on a 1:1 basis to young people with varying learning needs.
  • Work in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement innovative learning plans to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with our team to provide ongoing support and training.
Requirements
  • ESOL qualification (e.g., TEFL or CELTA)
  • Minimum 1-year EAL tutoring experience
  • Confidence in teaching UASC
  • Firm but fair approach
  • Recent safeguarding training or willingness to undergo Prospero's course
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
  • Two professional child-related references
