Secondary School Mathematics Support Specialist

A Competitive Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated Science or Maths Teaching Assistant to support the educational development of Year 10 and Year 11 students at our mainstream secondary school. As a key member of our academic team, you will collaborate with classroom teachers to identify student needs in mathematics and/or science.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in lesson planning and preparation of instructional materials to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Provide guidance and encouragement to students, promoting a positive learning environment that fosters academic growth and confidence.
- Develop comprehensive support plans for individual students with colleagues, ensuring tailored approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior to inform teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting diverse learners, staying up-to-date with best practices in education.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for education and commitment to student growth, with a strong proficiency in mathematics and/or science.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers and students alike.
- Previous experience working with secondary school students is highly desirable, though not essential.
- Familiarity with the UK national curriculum and assessment frameworks is crucial for success in this role.
