About the Role:

Velocity Recruitment is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Stafford. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks for facilities management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out routine maintenance on buildings, plant, and production equipment.
  2. Work as part of a two-person team on required shifts.
  3. Participate in the on-call rota to ensure continuous coverage.
  4. Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on Mechanical equipment.
  5. Ensure safe working practices by adhering to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  6. Support the management team in supervising engineering subcontractors and ensuring they comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
  7. Update logbooks, shift handovers, and client reports regularly and accurately.

Requirements:

  1. Hold mechanical qualifications from a recognized institution (NVQ/C&Gs).
  2. Prior experience in multi-skilled disciplines (electrical, fabric, water hygiene, painting, and carpentry) is advantageous.
  3. Demonstrate comprehensive mechanical experience in undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
  4. Be able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Estimated Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum for the successful candidate. This role offers excellent career opportunities for the right individual.
