We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Careers Advisor to join our team at South Hampshire College Group. As a key member of our careers service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality guidance and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and career goals.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of a comprehensive careers and educational guidance service across all college sites. This will involve promoting the availability and accessibility of the service, maintaining accurate records, and providing statistical information on usage. You will also be expected to develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships to ensure that students receive impartial advice, information, and guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide effective coordination of careers and educational guidance services across all college sites.
- Actively promote the availability and accessibility of the careers and education guidance service.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide statistical information on service usage.
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external partnerships to ensure students receive impartial advice, information, and guidance.
- Represent the college at external boards and meetings with stakeholders.
- Lead on planning and running of careers and employability-related events.
- Collaborate with curriculum, apprenticeship, and enrichment teams to support an effective careers service.
- Seek feedback from students and use it to inform the development of future provision.
- Provide course and careers guidance to vulnerable students, working closely with support teams and local services.
- Lead on the organisation, administration, delivery, development, and quality assurance of progression and UCAS.
- Monitor and collate UCAS applications and references to ensure quality assurance.
- Experience of working with students in post-16 education or a similar environment as an Educational Careers Guidance Adviser.
- Ability to co-ordinate and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills.
- Collaborative and enthusiastic team player.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Career Guidance and Development Qualification, L6 or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level (preferable).
We offer a competitive salary of up to £28,880.00 per year, 30 days leave per year, plus bank holidays, and a pension fund of up to 27.01% per annum. We also provide regular training and development opportunities to support your career growth.
