About the RoleThe South African National Blood Service is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join their team in the blood collection department. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in collecting quality safe blood according to specific targets.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the efficient preparation and closure of clinics to achieve blood collection targets.
- Ensure donor registrations are undertaken professionally, accurately, and promptly.
- Conduct Basic Physical Checks to assess donor suitability for donations.
- Perform Phlebotomy procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Undertake general administrative duties.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Professional image and visibility.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Valid code 8 or 10 driver's license.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and variable hours.
- Physical ability to stand for lengthy periods, carry loads, and climb stairs.
