The Role:

We're seeking an experienced Settlements Operations professional to join our UK and European team. You'll be responsible for managing daily settlement operations functions across Fixed Income, Equities, OTC Derivatives, FX, and related activities throughout the transaction lifecycle. Reporting directly to the European Head of Operations, you'll play a vital role in supporting our international prime brokerage business as it expands.

The Team:

Our mission at Clear Street is to become a single-source platform serving diverse investors across multiple asset classes on a global scale. The Clear Street UK team brings our established equities, options, and fixed-income prime brokerage business to new markets, fostering collaboration and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Settlement processes within market deadlines, ensuring all tasks & controls are performed accurately.
  • Daily checks and validation of performed settlement controls
  • Participation in meetings with stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and participate in departmental and cross-functional projects
  • Account creation and reference data maintenance – specifically SSI's
  • Implement all aspects of various settlement processes, including Escalation and controls policy
  • Structured reviews and reporting of settlements to indicate issues, workload, and potential risks.
  • Review operational risk in processing aspects, including processing, compliance, and systems
  • Assess settlement incidents, timely escalate to Operations management, and remediate where necessary
  • Ensure Procedures relating to Settlements are up to date and adhere to Group Policies & guidelines
  • Monitor SWIFT, CTM, ALERT, DTC ID, and other industry tools for timely trade comparison

Salary:** $120,000 - $180,000 per annum

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in settlement operations covering Fixed Income, Equities, OTC Derivatives, and FX products.
  • Familiarity with central counterparties (CCP) and central securities depositories (CSD) rules, including buy-ins and fails across international markets.
  • Understanding of Nostro/Stock/Control reconciliation exceptions
  • Proven track record of effectively managing a settlements team in a capital markets or financial services operations environment
  • Strong risk control background
  • Experience in building and establishing teams
