Job Title: Teaching Assistant for a Child with ASD and SEMH Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a KS2 setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the child, helping them engage in learning activities and manage challenging behavior.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to deliver tailored education and care plans.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
  • Build a trusting relationship with the child, encouraging positive social interactions and self-regulation skills.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD, SEMH, or other special educational needs in a school setting.
  • A patient, calm, and empathetic approach to managing challenging behavior.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the wider team.
