Currency Portfolio Manager Job Description

As a Currency Portfolio Manager at BNY, you will be responsible for implementing currency strategies across all flagship funds and generating profit and loss. You will contribute to macro debates and currency allocations with senior investors, working towards client return objectives and desired risk exposures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance currency framework and add to existing FX models.
  • Implement efficient structures to implement currency views, including options.
  • Manage assets independently within investment policy guidelines to achieve investment objectives.
  • Implement investment strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance and in accordance with the investment policies/philosophies and procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Work with research, strategy team members and other members of the portfolio teams.
  • Meet with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy, discuss market performance, and current market conditions.
  • Serve on the asset allocation committee.
  • Help with any ad-hoc tasks related to client and internal demands.
  • Supports investment discussion at Newton and BNY.

Requirements:
  • Economics/Finance/Maths/Engineering background ideally.
  • Good quants skill and coding preferable.
  • Knowledge of options structures and strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
