We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive Acute Stroke and Stroke Rehabilitation services, as well as general medical care to inpatients.
Main Responsibilities- Participate in the 1 in 11 Consultant general medical emergency on-call rota, providing advice and support to colleagues as needed.
- Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
- Clinical supervision of junior medical staff, including observation of local employment and human resource policies and procedures.
- Contribute to teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, as well as continuing medical education activities locally and nationally.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Entry on the GMC specialist register for General Internal Medicine and either Stroke Medicine or Geriatrics.
- High level of clinical experience and competence in GIM, Care of the Elderly, and Stroke Medicine.

About Our DepartmentOur department offers a 24-bedded mixed Hyper Acute, Acute, and Rehabilitation Unit, with a dedicated team of clinicians, including a Nurse Consultant, Specialist Nurses, and Therapists. We use Rapid AI and CT perfusion imaging to improve diagnostic confidence and accuracy in patients with hyperacute stroke.
