Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at Whipps Cross University Hospital. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of junior doctors, and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Emergency Medicine, with experience in clinical leadership and management. You will be expected to participate in direct clinical care, including the diagnosis and treatment of emergencies, and to contribute to the development of our department's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including the diagnosis and treatment of emergencies
  • Lead a team of junior doctors, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Contribute to the development of our department's policies and procedures
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including incident reporting and quality improvement
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with specialist teams, support services, and Primary Care colleagues
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Full GMC Registration
  • MB ChB or equivalent
  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine, or evidence of being within six months of CCT date
  • ALS, ATLS, APLS provider
  • Experience in clinical leadership and management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
