Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at Whipps Cross University Hospital. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of junior doctors, and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Emergency Medicine, with experience in managing acute medical and surgical conditions. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care, participate in clinical governance, and contribute to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute medical and surgical conditions.
  • Lead a team of junior doctors, providing guidance, support, and supervision.
  • Contribute to the development of our Emergency Department, including the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical governance, including the review of patient outcomes and the development of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care, including working with specialist teams and support services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine who has:

Full GMC Registration.MB ChB or equivalent.Entry on the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine, or the ability to achieve this within six months.ALS, ATLS, and APLS provider status.Experience in teaching and training, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and lead a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients.What We Offer
