Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Authorised Officer. This role is responsible for protecting public and animal health at the border by supporting Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority in the undertaking and delivery of statutory and discretionary services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be involved in examining and processing import documentation, as well as carrying out checks on imported goods to ensure they are safe for consumption in the UK.

  • This role offers a mix of office-based administrative functions and out-of-office duties, providing a unique blend of skills and experiences.
Key Responsibilities

As an Authorised Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority in the delivery of statutory and discretionary services at Border Control Points.
  • Examining and processing import documentation, including checking the safety and quality of imported goods.
  • Carrying out checks on imported goods to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of £27,711 - £33,366 per annum (subject to qualifications, experience, and competency), as well as a range of benefits including 14% shift allowance.*
