Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMO Project Controller to join our team in Bradford. As a key member of our IT PMO team, you will play a critical role in developing, supporting, and improving all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Leads in business case development and provide critical reviews on new Project requests.
- Advise Project Leads on cost estimates and ensure accurate forecasting and actual spend.
- Monitor project spend and identify opportunities for cost savings, challenging Project Managers where necessary.
- Lead portfolio process for cost forecasting and actual spend, providing timely and accurate data to Finance.
- Provide insights on project budgets, assessing financial risks and variances to optimize portfolio budget use.
- Embed and run portfolio Risk process, ensuring Project risks are identified, owned, and actively managed.
- Act as a critical friend to Heads of Transformation and Project Managers to ensure risks are captured, categorized, managed, or mitigated effectively.
- Hold the holistic risk profile for the portfolio, providing insight and proactively identifying owners and contributors from across all teams.
- Provide insights on risk across the portfolio of projects.
- Capture portfolio-level risks, ensuring they are owned and actively managed, mitigated, or accepted.
Reporting:
- Assess, analyze, and collate inputs to provide effective reporting outputs for stakeholders and boards.
Requirements:
- Proficient with MS Office, financial, project management, and reporting software.
- Exceptionally well-organized, with high attention to detail and strong prioritization skills.
- Strong team player with the ability to be objective and self-sufficient as required.
- Flexibility and ability to multitask in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders across all levels within the organization.
- Data-driven, analytical, and evidence-based in thinking and decision-making.
- Appetite for exploration and learning to continuously develop professionally and personally.
